Deep Heel Pain
Deep pain in the heel is most commonly caused by a condition known as plantar fasciitis which is the damage to and degeneration of the band of soft tissue (the plantar fascia) that extends from the heel to the toes and constitutes the arch of the foot. Pain is often worse on initial standing up from sitting or arising from bed in the morning.
